Launched in 2011, Evernote Food was meant to be your gathering place for food pictures and recipes, with the ability to find restaurants joining the feature list in 2013. But now, Evernote has decided to end support for its Food app, which means you’ll lose access to syncing and support on September 30, 2015.

Before that happens, you should make sure that the data you’ve saved in Evernote Food is backed up to your Evernote account. Perhaps you stopped using the app, forgot to install it on a new device, or have it set to only sync on WiFi. Whatever the case, here’s how to backup your data:

For Android users, tap the sync button at the bottom of the app’s screen. And for iOS users, you can tap the elephant and then choose Sync now.

Make sure your data has made it safe and sound to your Evernote storage by logging in to your account in a Web browser or one of its apps. Keep in mind that your notes will appear in the notebook you’ve chosen as your Meal Notebook in the app’s settings. Recipes are searchable like the rest of your account content using keywords and tags.

As a replacement, Evernote suggests using its eponymous app with its Web Clipper utility, or some of the food apps it included on its website.
