Avengers and Archie fans, take note; Scribd just added comics to its e-book subscription service. For $9 per month, you get unlimited access to a catalog of 10,000 comics, ranging from classic issues all the way to the latest releases.
Scribd teamed up with publishers Marvel, Archie, Boom! Studios, Dynamite, IDW/Top Shelf and Valiant to offer comics, and the catalog is a mix of old and new. You’ll see classic issues of Daredevil, the X-Men, Archie and more, plus modern issues of TV show tie-in comics of Adventure Time, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and My Little Pony.
You’ll also be able to read brand-new issues of many series shortly after they ‘re released, though the exact timing depends on the publisher.

Beyond individual comics, you can also read graphic novels from Alan Moore, Matt Fraction, Gail Simone and George R.R. Martin, among others. There’s also manga from publishers Cork and Harlequin Manga. You can search by character and series to find comics and browse hand-picked themed collections, such as Team-Ups or Funny Women.
Scribd’s really beefed up its e-book subscription since it launched in October 2013. It added audiobooks to the monthly subscription in November 2014 and it’s been expanding its catalog of e-books at a steady clip. The addition of comics puts it ahead of competing services Oyster Books and Amazon Kindle Unlimited, just in terms of the variety of content you can find.
Scribd is also now competing against Marvel, which offers an unlimited comics subscription service for $10 per month and Amazon-owned Comixology, where you can purchase individual comic issues.
