Instead of calling your local ghost hunters, intimidate poltergeists by building your own ghost trap replica, just like the one featured in the 1984 movie “Ghostbusters.”
This impressive ghost trap would make for an essential component for any “Ghostbusters” cosplayers out there, and it would also be a great sci-fi movie prop to show off in your home.
Tested channel host Norman Chan and model builder Sean Charlesworth team up to build this “Ghostbusters” prop that “pulls the best features from the traps that appear in the films, using as many original found parts as possible and the rest 3D printed,” according to the Tested blog.

Charlesworth spent hours personally modeling and designing the ghost trap based on reference material from the original “Ghostbusters” and “Ghostbusters II” films. The crafting duo uses a Dremel 3D printer to make most of the needed parts.
You can activate the doors, sounds and lights on the ghost trap by using a pedal that looks a lot like an electric guitar pedal. Charlesworth even uses e-cigarettes and an air pump to get the smoke effect just right.
“I wanted something that was self-contained, repeatable and easy to use,” Charlesworth explained in a video posted Wednesday. “I went down a rabbit hole of vaping; the technology in these things is actually really cool.”
