When you’ve brought back two of the most well-loved geeky franchises of all time, what do you do next? If you’re J.J. Abrams, the writer and director who spearheaded the wildly successful Star Wars and Star Trek reboots, the answer is pretty much whatever you want.
At least, that’s the premise of this parody clip from the comedy group Above Average released Monday. It pretty much proves there is no franchise Abrams can’t save. The clip is called “Star Wars: The Force of Abrams,” a reference to Abrams’ latest record-breaking movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

In the clip, right after he throws a Jar Jar Binks action figure into the trash, Abrams reveals that he was raised to do one thing: fix movie franchises. Abrams then outlines his plans for the next franchises he wants to save, a list that includes “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Indiana Jones” and “The Hobbit” trilogy.
But why stop there? If Abrams can improve those beloved movie franchises, certainly he can repair other things, right? Abrams announces plans to fix the ending to “The Sopranos,” revive Google Glass and make it “not the worst,” and fix sexism and racism while he’s at it.
Of course, he should probably just stick to movies, as a black guy he meets on the street suggests. After all, he seems to be doing a pretty good job with those.
