How to restore color to the title bars in Windows 10

Visually speaking, Windows 10 isn’t that different from Windows 8 — but for some reason, Microsoft elected to make the new operating system’s title bars white, with no option to change them.

Thankfully, that option has been restored as part of the Windows 10 update that’s rolling out today. Ready to bring a little color back to your windows? Here’s how:

Step 1: Click Start, then Settings.

Step 2: Click Personalization, then Colors.

Step 3: Turn on the setting for “Show color on Start, taskbar, action center, and title bar.”

Step 4: By default, Windows will “automatically pick an accent color from your background.” If you want to choose the color, set the option to off and then make your color selection.

That’s it! Now Windows 10 should look a little more colorful (with the exception, ironically, of the Settings window, which seems impervious to this change).
