Google Now is your helpful Android assistant that can remind you of upcoming events like birthdays, sports scores, movies and calendar events. That last item — calendar events — can be a bit tricky if you have more than one calendar on your Google account. You may only be seeing updates about your primary calendar, which isn’t very helpful if you have important events on a different one.
Here are three troubleshooting tips to help you get any or all of your Google calendar events to appear in Google Now:
Tip 1: Make sure your Google Calendar sync is enabled. You can check this by going to the device Settings > Accounts > Google > check the box next to Calendar. It’s a good idea to uncheck and recheck this box, if it was already enabled. This will force an immediate sync.
Tip 2: Open your Calendar app of choice that syncs with your Google account. Make sure the box next to the secondary calendar you want to receive reminders for is checked. Force a sync within the app, if possible.
Tip 3: If you still do not see the alerts for upcoming events on your secondary calendar in Google Now, add a timed reminder to the event in the form of a pop-up or email.
Finally, once you see an event from the desired calendar appear in Google Now, tap the three dots in the top right-hand corner of the information card. You’ll be asked if you want to show appointments from the calendar. Answer yes to this question and the next question that asks about getting updates for upcoming appointments.
