Get a text every morning with the best route to work

Do you live in a place where you have more than one terrible way to drive to work? Stop nodding and keep reading, commuters in Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles and other metropolises with bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic.

If a check of traffic conditions on Google Maps or Waze precedes your morning and evening commutes, then you can streamline operations with Morning Traffic Report. It’s a simple Web service that texts you each morning — and evening — with the best route for your commute. It uses Bing’s real-time and projected traffic data to pick the best route.

To get started, all you need to do is sign up on the Morning Traffic Report website. Give it your mobile number, your home address and work address, and the time in the morning and evening when you would like to receive texts with its suggestion for the best route. Make sure to select a time that is as close to when you are leaving home or work so that the service uses the most up-to-date traffic information.

If you find that Morning Traffic Report isn’t saving you any time with your commute, head back to its website, click Settings in the upper-right corner, and click to turn off the slider for Send SMS.
