While the human version of the Caped Crusader will be showing off the impressive gadgets and fancy vehicles parked inside his Batcave in “Batman v. Superman” this weekend, some of us are also excited to see inside the lair of Lego Batman.
New images from “The Lego Batman Movie,” revealed Monday by USA Today, show the inner decor of both the Batcave and Wayne Manor. Who knew Batman had the kind of kitchen worthy of its own Food Network series, or that he has a mask for every occasion?
“The Batcave is even better than we remembered it, it’s awesome,” actor Will Arnett, who is reprising his role as the gravely voice of Batman, told USA Today. “I also love getting into the ho-hum day-to-day of being Batman and what it’s like to fight crime each day. Like the idea of Batman oversleeping his alarm clock makes me laugh. It really does humanize him.”
“The Lego Batman Movie” is helmed by “The Lego Movie” animation supervisor Chris McKay and written by screenwriter and author Seth Grahame-Smith.
The movie, coming out next year, focuses on Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, and his fantastic lair. He depends mostly on his butler Alfred (voiced by Ralph Fiennes), but the introduction of Dick Grayson/Robin (voiced by Michael Cera) and Barbara Gordon/Batgirl (voiced by Rosario Dawson) turns his super-secret double life as a crime fighter upside down.
Not only do we get a look inside Batman’s cool secret hideout, we also got a look at the movie’s teaser poster, courtesy of Arnett who tweeted on Tuesday, “I AM Lego Batman.”
The animated movie opens in theaters on February 10, 2017, but you can catch the trailer for “The Lego Batman Movie” online starting Wednesday.
