The 88th Academy Awards show takes place Sunday. While the event may be about celebrating the best in the industry, not everyone out there is heaping praise on some of the nominees.
On Thursday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” actors Cate Blanchett, Eddie Redmayne, George Clooney and several others read some pretty mean tweets about themselves from Twitter users.

Many of them could barely get through the tweets without laughing, but that didn’t stop them from delivering some pretty epic comebacks.
My favorite quip came from Susan Sarandon. After reading a tweet from Twitter user @pattywhacker, which read “Tired of Susan Sarandon having her big fat saggy boobs in my face,” Sarandon just laughed and said, “Oh, you wish.” Yeah, it was pretty dang perfect.
The clip comes just in time for the 2016 Oscars, which will be broadcast live on ABC at 5:30 p.m. PT/8:30 p.m. ET on Sunday. The red-carpet show begins at 4 p.m. PT. Hopefully, host Chris Rock will take it a little easier on the nominees and winners than Twitter has.
