Amazon

Calling all Amazon Prime subscribers! (Everyone else, there’s some lovely Internet over here.) Today is the day you’ve long awaited! And by “long” I mean “since last week when you first heard it existed.”

Yes, today is Amazon Prime Day — and also Amazon’s 20th birthday, if you can believe that. To celebrate, the company is offering members-only deals that look to rival, if not exceed, the best of Black Friday. For example, as sneak-peeked yesterday, you can score a Fire TV Stick for $24 (though as of this writing, I’m not exactly sure when that particular deal goes live).

To help you find the best of Prime Day, I’ll be updating the post all day as new and noteworthy deals appear. (Click refresh regularly!) Please note that these deals are available at the time they’re posted, but the best ones are likely to sell out quickly.

The CNET team in London started scouring Amazon’s site early and have spotted these good-looking deals:

$80 for the Bose SoundTrue On-Ear Headphones ($70 or 47 percent off) Update: sold out. Update No. 2: It’s back!

$79 off the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7 ($60 or 43 percent off)

$250 off the iRobot Robot Roomba ($130 or 34 percent off) Update: sold out.

Cheapskate in the house!

Kindle e-reader with Special Offers for $49, the lowest price I can recall. Already “47% claimed” — won’t last.

Fitbit Charge HR and $25 Amazon gift card for $142.77. (That’s for the black version; the color ones are slightly higher.)

Update 5 a.m. PT: If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering why there’s currently no sign of the the Fire TV Stick, Chromebook, TVs or certain other items Amazon previewed yesterday. At this point I can merely guess that more items will be added to the sale page throughout the day.

Fire TV Stick for $24. That’s the best price on Amazon’s Roku-killer since it was first unveiled. Definitely won’t last long. Update: sold out, but there’s a waitlist option, meaning Amazon will likely release more stock.

HP Stream 7 Windows tablet for $59.99, though the waitlist is pretty much full. If you can snag one, consider yourself lucky.

Update 7:10 a.m. PT: Okay, starting to see lots more interesting deals in the “Upcoming” category, including laptops, monitors and more. Stay tuned!

Samsung NX300 20-megapixel mirrorless camera for $299 shipped. It’s not specifically a Prime Day deal, but rather one Samsung is piggybacking. Who cares? The top-rated NX300 sells elsewhere for at least $500.

Amazon Echo for $129. Now we’re getting somewhere! Though that still doesn’t match the $99 introductory price. Waitlist only at the moment, and currently it’s showing full.

Samsung UNHU8550 4K HDTV for $999.99 shipped. This top-rated 4K TV literally sold for thousands when it first debuted last year, and it currently runs $1,500. It comes with a hard drive packed with 10 4K movies and 30 4K documentaries. Update: Sold out. Ugh, that lasted all of 10 minutes.

Acer G246HL 24-inch LED monitor for $99.99. Not a huge savings (it’s normally $129.99), but still an awfully sweet price on a big monitor for your PC.

Update 7:45 a.m. PT: Deals are coming hot and heavy now, but a lot of them are showing “100% claimed” soon after they appear. For some you can join a waitlist for another shot, but even those waitlists are getting full fast.

General update: All the deals below have been appearing at various times throughout the day.

Dell 11.6-inch Chromebook for $139.99. Not too shabby!

Acer G277HL 27-inch monitor for $159.99. Not as good as the IPS monitor I shared just the other day for $149.99. Once again, the Cheapskate is better day-to-day than Amazon on its best day! šŸ˜‰

LG 32LF595B 32-inch smart TV for $199.99. A 32-inch TV at that price is no big deal. A name-brand smart TV at that price is pretty good.

Acer C720-3871 11.6-inch Chromebook for $199.99. This isn’t what I’d call a high-end model, so I don’t understand why it’s normally $349.99. Probably because of the Intel Core i3 processor, but isn’t that overkill for a Chromebook?

Fire HD 6 for $79. Already a steal at its regular $99 price, this is without question an amazing tablet buy. That’s for the 8GB model with Special Offers. As always, it’s probably worth the extra $20 to get the 16GB version.

Electrohome Archer turntable with built-in speakers for $79.96. These are really popular with folks looking to rediscover vinyl.

LG 55UB8200 55-inch 4K LED smart HDTV for $799.99, a very good deal on a top brand and model. Alas, for now it’s waitlist-only.

Kingsman: The Secret Service Blu-ray and digital copy for $9.99. This is a movie you either loved or loathed. If you’re in the former camp, it’s dirt-cheap!

WWE 2K15 for the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 for $24.99. If you’re looking to add a new title to your console library, you can get a few bucks off this wrestling game.

ViewSonic VA2465smh 24-Inch LED Monitor for $119.99. This one costs less than the 22-inch version of the same model. Update: This is now waitlist-only.

Fire HD 6 Kids Edition for $129. Not a huge discount, but you can still get $20 off this kid-friendly version of the Amazon Fire HD tablet.

Free Sport-Fi M6 Headphones with purchase of certain MEElectronics headphones. If you buy one of four sets of MEElectronics headphones (two in-ear, two on-ear), you can throw in a pair of the Sport-Fi M6 Noise Isolating In-Ear Headphones for free (saving you $19.99).
