Wow, that was quick! I’ve literally only just published a story about the Galaxy Ace 3 being leaked and Samsung has made it official.
The leak was pretty well spot-on, with a genuine pic and correctly predicting the Ace 3’s 4-inch 800×480-pixel screen.
If anything the leak underplayed the Ace 3’s specs a touch, with its 8GB of expandable internal memory and 1.2GHz dual-core processor a little better than expected. It’ll have 4G too, for super-fast, super-pricey mobile broadband.

It’s still a very basic phone though, with the same 5-megapixel snapper as last year’s Ace 2. Its screen resolution hasn’t improved either — if anything, it’s worse because the same number of pixels are stretched over a slightly larger display.
The Ace 3 will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the very latest version of Google’s mobile software — until the next version comes out, which may not be far away.
I expect we’ll be able to go hands-on with the Ace 3 at Samsung’s Galaxy & Ativ event on 20 June, alongside a bunch of other new Android devices such as the Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, Galaxy Mega, Galaxy S4 Mini and maybe a few Windows Phone devices. Hopefully we’ll find out a price and release date then too.
