Data-centric UK network Three is now taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and has confirmed pay as you go pricing for the 4.65-inch smart phone.
If you’re wondering how much it will it cost you to secure the Ice Cream Sandwich-sporting blower on Three, expect to splash out £34 per if you fancy signing up to a contract.
Dismayingly, that’s part of a 24 month contract. £40 per month for 24 months gets you onto Three’s The One Plan, which includes unlimited data, 2,000 minutes and 5,000 texts.
If you don’t like the thought of being tied into a contract (and you’d have to be mad to think it sounds like fun), you can get the Galaxy Nexus for one single penny less than £500 on Pay As You Go, making it the same price as the 16GB iPhone 4S.
Is that too expensive? Let us know what you think. We’d like to have seen Samsung’s effort undercut Apple — we’ll just have to see how keen people are to actually buy one.
Samsung recently denied rumours that the Galaxy Nexus has been delayed until December, claiming that it was on track for a 17 November release, one day after the Nokia Lumia 800 is due to hit the shelves.
Three’s website says the Galaxy Nexus will be available on 18 November at the earliest, which calendar enthusiasts will tell you is one day after Samsung’s proclaimed launch date.
The Galaxy Nexus looks extremely tempting, running Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich, the very latest edition of Google’s mobile operating system. Will that be enough to propel it to success? Leave your predictions in the comments, or on our Facebook and Google+ pages.
