LAS VEGAS — Channel Master has announced that its DVR+ set-top box will be upgraded with its LinearTV technology in early 2015 and will enable users to access linear Internet channels as part of the program guide.

Online broadcast channels will appear in the guide alongside over-the-air broadcast channels and the existing inclusion of streaming applications Vudu, Pandora and YouTube.

The Channel Master DVR+ was released in 2014 and is a cord-cutting OTA set-top unit that doesn’t require subscription fees.

Channel Master has yet to announce which channels will be added to the DVR+ but notes that content providers won’t need to do any extra development, as is the case for most Smart TV services, so this could mean a quicker take-up rate.
