Optus is beefing up the number of streaming television channels offered for its MeTV PVR (turned online media streamer), with a choice of four foreign-language packs.

From this week, the company will offer streaming foreign language channels to its MeTV customers. The channels are divided into four different packs, targeted at different audiences: Chinese in Mandarin; Indian in Hindi; Korean; and a combined group for Singapore and Taiwan.

The cost of these language packs is in addition to the base cost of MeTV, which is currently set at AU$9.95 for a minimum of 24 months. Although the MeTV box has a 1TB hard disk, these streaming channels cannot be recorded onto the device.
