The DoubleTime, the more entry-level of the two keyboarded Android handsets, has a price tag of $49.99 with a new, two-year service agreement. With its two screens that open like a book, the phone carries a disappointing Android 2.2 Froyo (instead of the current 2.3 Gingerbread OS), and has a 3.2-megapixel camera with camcorder, a Qualcomm 600MHz processor, and a 2GB microSD card to get you started. The screen is an 3.2-inch HVGA display.
The much higher-end Captivate Slide, meanwhile, will cost $149.99. It includes Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a 4-inch Super AMOLED display. There’s a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, and it runs on AT&T’s “4G” HSPA+ 21Mbps network. For multimedia, it has the standard 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
