BlackBerry CEO John Chen and Foxconn founder Terry Gou have shown off the BlackBerry Z3 at MWC in Barcelona.
Previously codenamed the Jakarta, the Foxconn-designed phone has a 5-inch high-res screen, the power to run the latest version of BBOS (10.2.1) and, according to BlackBerry, a very high capacity battery.
BlackBerry will sell the Z34 unlocked for under US$200 and its initial market will be Indonesia. It’s yet another company at MWC showing a concerted push into emerging markets rather than a focus on high-ticket flagship products.
We’ll have more information on the Z3 and the Q20 — the keyboard sporting ‘BlackBerry Classic’ — as they come to hand.
