With a 2016 election that played out across social media, Americans are looking to the online platforms once again to talk about what happens next.

#ElectionMorningAfter: Trump’s win has a lot of people on social media worried about what’s going to happen over the next four years. A lot of uncertainty is in the air, with the dystopian notion of a “Hunger Games”-like future even circulating. While the former reality TV star’s supporters roundly celebrated Trump’s victory — including a former Ku Klux Klan leader thanking WikiLeaks — many users on Twitter rejected the election results. News continues to pour in, with Trump sending his first tweet since winning, President Obama calling to congratulate him and Clinton preparing to deliver her first post-election remarks.
#ImStillWithHer: Protests are ringing out across the country over Trump’s win. Clinton won the popular vote but lost the electoral college. Her supporters have been rallying on social media, even after she called Trump to concede. Supporters are holding out on Twitter, along with the #NotMyPresident hashtag. She is expected to speak in New York City at about 7:30 a.m. PT/10:30 a.m. ET.
Canada: Oh, Canada. As Election Day soured for many Democrats, Canada quickly become more than just the neighbor to the north. The nation’s immigration website crashed after Trump began leading the election on Tuesday night, with many Twitter users saying they’re considering a move to Canada. “Immigration to Canada” was trending on Facebook as well, with many wondering how to actually become expatriates.

Marijuana: In mellower news from Election Day, California, Nevada and Massachusetts voted to legalize recreational marijuana. The vote was trending on Facebook by Wednesday morning, with social media users in those states at least having something to look forward to.
#TwitterBlackout: People on Twitter are protesting Trump’s victory by changing their avatar to a black background. The color represents a funeral service for the US.
