Looking for detailed stats on your Twitter or Instagram followers? At least one app — newly rejiggered for the iPhone — can help.
Formerly known as JustUnfollow, the app now known as Crowdfire comes in an updated iPhone version that aims to provide and compare useful stats on your Twitter account. The app, updated over the weekend, reveals how your own Twitter audience breaks down beyond what Twitter itself offers. For example, you can view recent followers, recent unfollowers, inactive followers, nearby followers, people you follow who don’t follow back and people who follow you but who you don’t follow.
The stats can be helpful in connecting you with people you might not otherwise find. Twitter does a decent job of suggesting accounts that you may want to follow based on your interests. But Crowdfire taps into a much wider audience so you can discover more people out there in the Twittersphere, especially among those who may already be following you.
Crowdfire also includes tools to automate your Twitter activity. You can set up a whitelist to automatically include accounts you won’t want to unfollow. On the flip side, a blacklist includes accounts you never want to follow. To add a personal touch, the app can automatically send a direct message to any new follower. And you can set up Crowdfire to email your stats to you on a regular basis.
You can follow or unfollow someone directly from the app, so there’s no need to fire up Twitter’s own app to do so.
And what about those of you on Instagram? The app provides similar data, except it’s geared toward your audience on the popular photo-sharing site. You can view your fans, non-followers, recent followers, recent unfollowers and admirers. You can set up a whitelist and blacklist.
You can also view photos from specific accounts and queue up your own photos so the app can remind you to upload them at a specific time.
Crowdfire is also available for Android users via Google Play and is on the Web. The Android version was updated and renamed last month.
