Exif data is embedded into each photo you take. The information details what type of camera was used, what the settings of the camera were at the time the photo was taken and perhaps more importantly, where the photo was taken.
Over the years, various iOS apps have existed to read Exif data stored in photos, but none of them have been done all that well.
ViewExif breaks that mold. I discovered this app thanks to the team at AppleWorld.Today. ViewExif is currently free in the App Store, marked down from its normal price of 99 cents.

Integrated with iOS 8’s share extension, you can pull up the Exif data for any photo directly from the share sheet. You’ll need to enable the extension the first time you use it by launching the share sheet, scrolling to the left until you find “More” and then slide the ViewExif switch to On.
What’s more, you can then share the a photo with all metadata information stripped from it.
Meaning, before you email a photo of your iPhone 5S to a potential buyer on Craigslist (which likely includes the location of your home in the Exif data) you can remove it and send it on its way.
