Tyrion Lannister might be one of the most talkative characters on “Game of Thrones,” but the guy can also sing. Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion on the HBO series, is featured in a new video out Tuesday singing about how Tyrion is the man for all seasons and won’t be killed off like many of the other characters have been.
Dinklage partnered with Coldplay and NBC for the song, which will be featured as part of NBC’s Red Nose Day Live Benefit Show on May 21. Red Nose Day is an effort to raise money and awareness to help children living in poverty around the world. The UK has been running Red Nose Day benefits since 1988, and the event is coming to the US for the first time this year.
Dinklage’s song is just one of the many “Game of Thrones” tunes that will be featured on the show, part of a series NBC is calling “Game of Thrones: The Musical.” The musical will feature several other “Game of Thrones” cast members singing the tales of Westeros and Essos with Coldplay,
Check out the vocal cords on Dinklage in the video above, then watch a short preview of Coldplay’s Red Wedding song on NBC’s site. If you’d like to watch the whole Red Nose Day benefit, it will air on NBC in the US on Thursday, May 21 at 8 p.m ET.
Update, 9:35 a.m. PT: Coldplay on Wednesday uploaded another video from its “Game of Thrones” musical, this one featuring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister on the show, singing a love ballad to his sister Cersei. You can watch his touching, and somewhat disturbing, video below.
