Cord-cutters desperate to watch “Masters of Sex” and past episodes of “Dexter” will get their chance soon.
CBS Chief Executive Les Moonves said Thursday that the company’s premium cable network Showtime will launch a streaming video offering direct to consumers “in the coming months.” Earlier this year, Moonves said the service would be coming in the “not-too-distant future.”
Moonves didn’t provide any details about pricing.
The service will be the latest response by a traditional television program to a shift in consumers’ video habits to include more Internet viewing, sometimes even supplanting the traditional pay-TV packages of a cable or satellite provider. Last month, fellow premium cable network HBO launched HBO Now, a $14.99-a-month service that people could purchase without the commitment to a pricey cable bill.

CBS also launched a product called All Access in 14 US television markets in October. Sling TV, a multichannel online offering from satellite provider Dish, launched nationwide in February.
