If there’s a less sexy tech term than “software as a service” (aka SaaS), I haven’t heard it. So when I first discovered this “Super SaaS” bundle, I rolled over and went back to sleep. Bo-ring!
Upon closer inspection, however, this is not some super-techie, business-oriented, only-an-IT-manager-could-love-it collection. It’s actually a pretty sweet bundle for us ordinary folk. It’s just the name that’s off-putting.
To wit: StackSocial has the Super SaaS 2016 Bundle for $54 when you apply coupon code saasskate at checkout. That nets you an extra $5 off the already-solid price of $59.
Here’s what you get:
- A lifetime subscription to Hushed, which provides private messaging and temporary, disposable phone numbers.
- A one-year, 1TB subscription to cloud-backup service iDrive.
- A 3-year, 100GB subscription to Koofr, a cloud-storage service that lets you access all your other cloud accounts (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive and so on) under one roof.
- A 3-year subscription to TigerVPN, which normally would run $199 all by itself.
- A 2-year subscription to TimeDoctor Solo, a time-tracking tool designed to help you minimize distractions and improve your productivity.
So, yeah, lots of good stuff! Nearly every item in here costs more than the price of the bundle, so if only one of them is worth your money, it’s still a good deal and everything else is just bonus gravy. Indeed, the combined value of the collection is a hefty $631.
Needless to say, I’m a big fan of bundles (see yesterday’s post). Just make sure to take note of the license terms, as most of these services require you to activate within 30 days of purchase — hardly a big deal, but just something to note if you don’t plan to start your various subscriptions right away.
Bonus deal: Game time! Ending at 1 p.m. ET (sorry for the short notice!), the Humble Store has Wolfenstein: The New Order (Windows) for $8.99. Price on Steam: $59.99. This top-rated 2014 game is, IMHO, a steal at that price.
