The Next Web recently uncovered what’s perhaps the easiest way to share your Snapchat account with friends and family members.
Sure, the service has long had unique Snapcodes users could share and scan to add someone, but the process required extra steps. Now, each Snapchat users has his or her own unique URL. When shared, a user can open the link on a smartphone and the Snapchat app will open, displaying your profile with the option of adding you as a friend.
The process is very simple, yet ever so useful.
To find your own URL, which you can then text, email, tweet, Facebook or broadcast it across the Internet until your friend count is sufficient, follow these steps:
- Launch Snapchat.
- Swipe down on the main screen.
- Tap on Add Friends.
- Select Share Username.
Your phone will then display the various apps and services you can share your personalized Snapchat URL to. For the curious, your Snapchat URL will look something like this: snapchat.com/add/[USERNAME], where [USERNAME] is replaced with your actual user name. You can click on this link to see what the process looks like for those you share the link with.
