Chris Pratt shows off ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ film set

Not everyone can save the universe as Star Lord, but you can get the chance to be his buddy for the day with a new charity campaign from Omaze — the same fund-raising organization that made it possible for fans to spend the day on the set of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” last year and promised one lucky fan the opportunity to have a walk-on role in 2016’s “Star Trek Beyond.”

This time around, Marvel and Pratt have teamed up with Omaze to give fans the chance to be his sidekick for a day on the movie set of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”

The winner of the grand prize will get a tour of the film’s set, including the spaceship Milano, and lunch with Pratt himself.

The tax-deductible donations will go toward building an entire youth center from the ground up for Lake Stevens Boys & Girls Club in Washington.

“I want to make you the next Guardian of the Galaxy,” Pratt says in the promotional video from Omaze.

In the video, we see Pratt show off the wardrobe department, as well as some rather crude drawings of his own costume ideas, which look a bit out there, to be honest.

We also see Pratt showing off a few props from the film, including Star Lord’s gun and helmet. “You can put this helmet on and punch me in the face,” Pratt says in the video. “That’s a promise. It’s for the kids.”

As Pratt walks around the movie set, he quickly sits down in front of a blue screen in his set chair and says, “You’ll be able to see how they film me and then seamlessly transport me into another universe.”

Pratt even tries to reveal who Star Lord’s father is, but luckily writer and director James Gunn stops him before anything too juicy is leaked.

“You don’t understand what a spoiler is,” Gunn tells Pratt in the video. “I keep telling you.”

Pratt keeps piling on the perks to the Omaze grand prize with possible events that will probably not happen, like jumping a forklift off a ramp, and winning a golf cart.

He even hints that he might give away his set chair that says “Peter Quill” on it. “Though I can’t make any promises,” Pratt quickly adds.

But hey, Pratt does offer to give the winner his or her very own mix tape, and reminds fans that they can pick up some sweet loot, or “Groot,” like a digital thank you card, limited-edition T-shirts, art prints, cassettes and cassette players, and more.
