Windows 8 phone may hit T

If a TMO News report pans out, Samsung might be quietly planning a new Windows 8 smartphone boasting a connection to T-Mobile’s new 4G LTE network. Other specs the device could feature include a nimble 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a big 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD (1280×720-pixel) screen.

Other possible goodies the rumored handset, code-named Odyssey, might be equipped with are a 1080p main camera (likely 8 megapixel) and front-facing 720p imaging system. The source of the speculation stems from a user agent document spelling out the hardware profile and network details of the unknown piece gadget. The doc does identify the author to be a DE Yoon from Samsung Electronic’s Windows Mobile Lab, which sounds pretty official to me. The handset itself is tagged as the SGH-T899 using Samsung’s traditional smartphone nomenclature.

No details yet as to when this device will arrive but apparently Windows Phone fans may soon have a device comparable to hot-rod Android products. Let’s hope the wait won’t be too long and that Android fans won’t be left out of T-Mobile’s 4G LTE launch either.
