Vodafone has reorganised its 4G tariffs, so you can kiss goodbye to the extra 4GB of data that made Vodafone such an enticing prospect.
Up until now, anyone signing up for a 4G contract got to fill your boots with unlimited data for the first three months, with an extra 4GB per month on top of your allowance for the rest of the contract.
One the plus side, the network is still offering unlimited data for the first three months, and the cheapest deal has now been boosted from 2GB to 3GB.
The 4GB bonus was due to end in October but was extended into the new year as Vodafone jockeyed with rivals to rope in 4G customers. O2 has joined Vodafone and EE in offering 4G deals, while Tesco and Three commendably include 4G in their regular deals.
Even without the extra 4GB, Vodafone has a clutch of money-saving sweeteners: a contract gets you six months or a year of free Spotify or Sky Sports, which would cost you £60 or more.
Meanwhile O2 offers Premier League goals courtesy of The Sun and EE offers free cinema tickets. But all the cheap deals and extra perks in the world won’t help if 4G doesn’t cover your neck of the woods. EE has the widest coverage, although rivals are catching up; check Vodafone’s coverage here.
