Virgin Mobile has undergone a brand refresh, with the new strategy focusing on the telco’s connection to the entire Virgin “family” of products and services.
This refresh has included a redesigned logo and a new “Irresistible Plan”, costing AU$140 per month. For that, customers will receive unlimited local calls and SMSes, AU$200 worth of international calls and text, 6GB of data and a Virgin Australia return flight to New Zealand, Fiji or Vanuatu.
Customers on the plan will be able to upgrade their handset every 12 months by re-signing for an additional 24-month plan.
Derek Cummins, director of Proposition and Strategy for Virgin, said that existing Virgin customers could move onto the new plan, getting the free flight, if they are “eligible”, with said eligibility being decided “on a case-by-case” basis.
All Virgin Mobile customers will now be able to receive incentives when purchasing products or using services from other Virgin companies, including credit cards, travel insurance and Virgin Wines.
In launching the new branding and plan, David Scribner, head of Virgin Mobile Australia, noted that the telco wants to push a “customer-centric focus”.
“We’re already a credible alternative to the top three telcos in the country,” he said. “It’s no longer just a price game; customers want more, and we want to be the most-loved and irresistible brands in the country.”
