VHA pads up for cricket again this summer

Vodafone and 3 Mobile customers will be able to enjoy live cricket on their phones this summer, if they don’t mind adding a few dollars a day to their bills.

As with previous years, each cricket match played in Australia over summer will be broadcast, including the Test matches, One-day internationals and Twenty20 matches. Customers can choose which matches to watch, paying AU$2 per day, with iPhone customers paying AU$2.95 per match via iTunes.

In addition to the live streams, and in keeping with VHA’s unabashed passion for the Android operating system, cricket-loving customers using a Google-powered phone can also download a free widget for their home screens to keep up-to-date with the scores and stats, including everyone’s favourite, the batsman’s “wagon wheel”. This custom widget has been designed by Appland, an in-house team at VHA who were responsible for the handy Who2Call app released recently for the Android and iPhone.

To access live broadcasts customers will need a 3G-compatible handset and the 3G portion of VHA’s network.
