We may have a new window into Verizon Wireless’ short-term Android plans thanks to a document obtained by Droid Life. Though leaks like these aren’t completely reliable, a pair of HTC handsets and an LG device should join the Droid Bionic on the carrier’s smartphone roster.
The HTC ADR6425, also known as the Vigor, could prove to be one of the most powerful Android handsets to date. Recent rumors point to a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and a 720p HD display. Assuming HTC keeps pace with other specifications, we also might look for an 8-megapixel camera and up to 1GB RAM.
This is our first time hearing about the HTC ADR6330 so it’s quite possible this is a special edition of the Droid Incredible 2. Pocketnow found a silver and white model this week, which closely resembles previous iterations of the Incredible line.
The final device listed, the LG VS920, is shrouded in mystery. While the model number is very similar to the Revolution’s LG-VS910, it’s difficult to imagine Verizon wanting to replace the phone after just two months.
As a reminder, the Revolution offers a 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, and support for 4G LTE. Aside from the single-core processor, it can hold its own against other midrange devices. It is possible that LG and Verizon are refreshing the model for the second half of the year, but I might look for something else. Perhaps something in a sliding QWERTY design.
After sitting on the sidelines for the better part of the year, it appears that the Droid Bionic will arrive in the next few weeks. The redesigned handset should offer consumers a dual-core processor, 4.3-inch qHD display, laptop dock connectivity, and support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network.
With only a few months to go before these arrive, we can look forward to seeing additional specifications and images leak in short order. Do any of these sound like the type of Android you’re looking for or might a lower-priced model be more your style?
