In addition to the invitation received by media outlets such as CNET, visitors of the carrier’s DroidDoes website are now greeted with a shadowy handset and countdown. Look closely and you’ll note the phone bears a striking resemblance to the much-rumored Motorola Droid Turbo.
CNET was first to report that Verizon and Motorola would introduce a new, fast-charging handset in October. Factor in a subsequent string of leaked benchmarks, sightings, and a user manual and we have a pretty clear picture that this is it.
The Droid Turbo is said to have a 5.2-inch ultra high definition display (1440p), a 21-megapixel rear camera, and 3GB RAM. And, as if rapid charging weren’t enough, the Motorola phone could boast a downright massive 3,900mAh battery.
Stick with CNET for live impressions on launch day, and everything in between.
