Verizon is the first US carrier to roll out the Android 4.4 KitKat update to Motorola’s Moto X.
According to a company blog post, Verizon customers will start seeing KitKat as soon as today.

Rolling out in phases, the software brings features such as an improved dialer, new photo gallery effects, and redesigned status and notification bars. Oh, and let’s not forget the colorful emojis in the keyboard.
Motorola has also folded in some custom tweaks, integrating features into services such as Touchless Control. In a move that feels entirely out of place, there are no Verizon apps or services being folded into the build.
For those who like to pore over every little detail, a changelog can be found on Motorola’s support page.
It’s unclear how long the process to deliver the KitKat update to all Verizon customers will take; anxious users can manually check for the new build by navigating to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
Presumably, the other US carriers will follow suit and issue their respective Android 4.4 releases within the next few weeks.
