Verizon cuts price of customized Moto X phone to $50

Verizon subscribers can slash the price of Motorola’s Moto X smartphone in half by purchasing it via Motorola’s Moto Maker Web site.

Normally $100 with the usual two-year contract, the phone is selling for $50 until the end of Monday. Verizon customers can find the deal at the Moto Maker Web site. There you can pick the front and black colors as well as an accent, add a name or personal message to the back plate, opt for a case, and choose your accessories.

Upon checkout, just select Verizon as your carrier, and the discount will automatically be applied. Shipping is free with an estimated delivery of five days.

Equipped with a 4.7-inch 1,280×720 pixel OLED screen, the Moto X on sale includes 16GB of onboard storage. Released in August, the phone has gained healthy traction among users in North America, according to a recent report from online ad network Chitika.
