Verizon approves Android KitKat for HTC One

HTC One owners on Verizon, today is your lucky day. HTC product manager Mo Versi has confirmed via Twitter that a big update to Android KitKat is heading your way starting today.

This over-the-air upgrade will certainly pack a wallop. The software roll-out is expected to boost HTC’s current flagship to Android version 4.4 plus the company’s freshest iteration of its Sense UI (5.5).

That’s sure to make at least some US owners of the HTC One happy. Up until now, only global GSM and Developer Edition versions of the all-metal clad superphone flaunted this software. Let’s hope other American carriers step up their game and give their HTC One handsets the KitKat green light.
