A fingerprint trick on the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

1:02

You probably know that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge‘s fingerprint scanner lets you unlock your phone without a passcode. But there’s another, lesser-known way to use the fingerprint scanner: to log into websites.

Note that as of now, the feature only works with the stock Browser app, not third-party apps like Chrome or Firefox. Here’s how to set it up.

Step 1: Go to Settings > Lock Screen and Security > Fingerprints. Enable Web sign in.

Step 2: Using the Browser app, head to any website and log in as usual. When you do, a pop-up will appear with a checkbox enabling Web sign in. Check the box and continue. Repeat the same process for any other websites you’d like to log into with your fingerprint.

Step 3: To test it out, log out of a website you set up in Step 2. You’ll be asked to scan your fingerprint at the log-in screen.
