LG’s Lifeband Touch comes to Australia

LG has announced Australian pricing and availability for the Lifeband Touch, though the device will not be accompanied by the brand’s complementary Heart Rate Earphones when it hits local stores.

First unveiled at CES 2014, the wearable activity tracker will be hitting Australian retail stores from “late May 2014” according to LG, and will be available for AU$199.

Designed to work with a heartrate monitor in order to display real-time fitness information, the Lifeband Touch was originally launched in tandem with LG’s Heart Rate Earphones — earbuds with in-built sensors that measure heart rate and oxygen consumption and send this data to the Lifeband.

However, LG Australia has confirmed that the Lifeband Touch will be making its way to Australian stores on its own, and there are no plans to launch the Heart Rate Earphones in Australia.

Compatible with LG’s G2, smartphones using Android 4.3 and above and iPhones on iOS 6.1 and above, the Lifeband Touch will be available in-store at Harvey Norman, JB HiFi, and Bing Lee.
