Price drop: US Cellular lowers cost for its prepaid plans

US Cellular drops its prepaid prices to remain competitive.

US Cellular has become the latest wireless provider to tweak its prepaid rate plans. Today sees the carrier dropping prices for most of its Simple Connect Prepaid rate plans.

Effective immediately, the $45 option allows for unlimited talk, text, and 1GB of high-speed data. The $55 option provides 2GB of data, while the $65 plan gives users 4GB of 4G LTE data. If you happen to go over the 1GB or 2GB threshold, US Cellular will throttle speeds for the remainder of the billing period.

As part of a separate, limited-time promotion, US Cellular will give new Simple Connect customers a $50 credit. The voucher can be used toward future monthly services or smartphone accessories.

On top of that, US Cellular is promoting two phones with limited-time sales: the Motorola Moto G LTE for $50 if you buy it online or $80 in stores, and the Samsung Galaxy S4 for $300.
