Size isn’t everything, but you can decide for yourself if bigger is better when it comes to tablets as the 12.2-inch Samsung Galaxy NotePro is waiting to be fondled in shops today.
Samsung says you can try, and if you like it, buy the dinner plate-sized slate in selected stores including Carphone Warehouse and John Lewis, as well as the Samsung Experience Store in East London’s Westfield Stratford City.
Once you’ve got your sticky fingerprints all over it, note though that an oversized tablet comes with a suitably oversized price tag — the NotePro costs £649.
For your money you get a 1,600×2,560 screen and octa-core processor, packing four 1.9GHz and four 1.3GHz cores.
The NotePro was unveiled alongside the almost-identical Galaxy TabPro at CES last month, and has been up for pre-order for a week. The difference between the two is that the NotePro comes with an S Pen stylus — like its phablet namesake the Galaxy Note 3 — while the TabPro has no pen. The TabPro also comes in a range of sizes, adding 8.4-inch and 10.1-inch models to the 12.2-inch version.
