Toshiba Excite 7.7 packs a beautiful screen
1:23
Although the Toshiba Excite 10 has already been out since May, the rest of the family is due to be released in just a few days and they’re all excited (ha! see what I did there?) to hit the market.
On June 10, the two remaining members of Toshiba’s lineup of tablets are due to hit stores. These Wi-Fi-enabled devices all run on Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich and they’re powered by Tegra 3, quad-core processors. Oh, and they’re also all kind of expensive.
The smallest-size option is the Excite 7.7. Unlike its big brothers, it’s the only one to sport an AMOLED screen. And yes, this Gorilla Glass display makes videos and images bright and rich in color.
The 16GB model will go for $499.99, whereas the 32GB version will be $579.99.
As I mentioned before, the Excite 10 is already out. CNET editor Eric Franklin dug its lofty 128GB expandable memory slot, but not so much its clunky power charger and disappointing camera quality.
Its sticker price is $449.99 for the 16GB, $529.99 for the 32GB, and $649.99 for the 64GB model.
Lastly, there is the ginormous Toshiba Excite 13. Boasting an unprecedented 13.3-inch screen, the device is unwieldy in the hand, but perfectly useful when docked or stationary — especially when viewing HD videos.
A few CNET readers have already chimed in saying the extra real estate is a welcomed option.
The 32GB version will go for $649.99, while you’re going to have to pay $749.99 MSRP for the 64GB version.
