One of my favorite iPhone games, The Incident, has just been updated to version 1.2–a major update that includes an Endless Nightfall scenario, Game Center compatibility with achievements and a leaderboard, and a new Controller Mode that allows you to control the iPad version of The Incident with your iPhone.
The new Endless Nightfall scenario allows players to climb as high as they possibly can, amassing points that they can then use to rub in the faces of all their Game Center friends. Other in-game achievements require unlocking every level, collecting every gem, collecting 500 coins, and of course, saving the world.
Controller Mode on The Incident 1.2 is a pretty cool development. Using your iPhone or iPod touch, you can control Frank Soloway’s every movement on the iPad version of The Incident. Developers Matt Comi and Neven Mrgan produced a YouTube video explaining how to set it up and showed it off.
The Incident 1.2 also includes Retina Display support for extra-crispy 8-bit graphics, new MIDI music in the Endless Nightfall mode, 53 new items to crush you on your journey (I saw a giant Tetris block in there), and a new power-up balloon.
If you haven’t picked up The Incident yet, you can download it from the App Store for $1.99 (works on iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch).
