LG has today announced that its next flagship phone, the Optimus G, will be exclusively available through Telstra in March.
The 4G Android smartphone is LG’s most advanced hardware to date. It features a 4.7-inch IPS display at 1280×768 resolution, a Snapdragon S4 processor (1.5GHz quad-core), a 13.0 megapixel camera, 32GB of memory and a solid 2100mAh battery. The screen has been lauded for introducing “Zerogap Touch” technology that removes the air gap between screen and touch components, offering a screen with greater clarity than most.
It will launch running Android 4.1 Jellybean.
The Optimus G has been available in Korea since September, so fans of the hardware will have seen almost six months pass before it is to hit a local carrier. A March launch also puts the handset’s arrival beyond this year’s Mobile World Congress, which will see many companies announce newer hardware that may convince customers to wait a little longer for something coming later in the year.
No final pricing has been announced.
