The Razr HD will be available for AU$5 on AU$60 Telstra personal plans, or for AU$720 RRP outright. When the Razr M hits stores, it will be AU$5 cheaper each month, and sold outright for AU$600. Both phones will be exclusive to Telstra until the end of the year.

“We’re focusing on doing fewer things better, and we’re making some big bets around the world,” said Motorola Australia managing director Timo Brouwer. “The combination of Google’s passion, in terms of software and in particular the mobile experience, combined with the way we design and make phones, makes for a really interesting partnership.”

Brouwer spoke specifically about the way that Motorola is designing its user interfaces to be “much simpler to use”, saying that the feedback Motorola has received from its customers was that many people find Android “fairly complex”.

The Razr HD builds on the relaunch of the Razr branding last year, and maintains some of the key design decisions of its predecessor, including a Kevlar battery cover for added rigidity. It now has a larger 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and 4G connectivity.
