Telstra has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 has, indeed, been given Blue Tick accreditation.
Samsung had previously told CNET Australia that it was anticipating getting the Blue Tick by launch date. The Telstra accreditation is given for “superior coverage performance” and signifies a phone that has better than average reception of Telstra’s network in regional and rural areas of Australia.
This is the first Galaxy flagship phone that has the Blue Tick. According to Samsung Australia, its R&D group had worked with Telstra to ensure the S5 would meet the requirements for the Tick.
The S5 goes on sale in Australia this Friday 11 April, along with the new range of Gear smartwatches. The RRP for the phone is AU$929.
