Teaser ad hints Motorola Droid Razr coming next week

First, a word of warning: if you’re still recovering from the weekend, you might be advised not to check out this Motorola teaser video that’s been punted out today.

It shows a series of images flashing on the screen while a heartbeat speeds up along with the rate of the images. And it gives us a fair hint of what’ll be announced come next Tuesday, if you can stomach the brain-melting weirdness of it all.

“Four reasons to get excited,” reads the email from Motorola’s press arm, along with a link to the video. The words that flash up are Faster, Thinner, Smarter, and Stronger. And considering all of those tally with the info that leaked out recently regarding the Droid Razr, this is looking pretty certain.

That razor blade featured in the teaser video would also hint that the final name is Droid Razr (previous reports said it could also be known as the Spyder), resurrecting one of Motorola’s best-known phone ranges.

The Droid Razr is said to feature a Kevlar case (a bullet-proof vest, also made from Kevlar, also features in the video), and inside is a 1.2GHz processor and 1GB RAM. Imaging duties are taken care of by an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video, and even the front-facing cam for video chatting is HD.

It should also be compatible with Motorola’s Webtop range of docks, effectively becoming a laptop when you slide it into the Lapdock.

So while we may have to wait a little longer for the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich, it looks like Android fans still have plenty to get their teeth into come this holiday season.
