HTC 10

Thanks to new leaked images, we now have a good idea as to what to expect from the 10-inch HTC Puccini tablet when it finally arrives at AT&T this summer.

Boy Genius Report is offering a glimpse of the front and back of the device. Not much is confirmed by the pictures, but we do know the tablet will feature an 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, stereo speakers, and perhaps a textured finish on the back side. The HTC Scribe also makes an appearance in one image, all but confirming the digital stylus technology for the unit.

Previous reports for the HTC Puccini lean toward a dual-core processor, Android Honeycomb OS, and the custom tablet version of HTC Sense UI. The tablet recently made its way through the FCC where it showed support for AT&T’s 4G HSPA+ network.

I’m a big fan of the HTC Flyer and its 7-inch display, but there are times where I find myself wanting a larger screen. The Puccini has the makings of a stellar tablet experience as it combines Sense UI and Honeycomb support with a 10-inch display and HTC’s build quality.

HTC 10

HTC unveiled its Flyer 7-inch Android tablet at Mobile World Congress in February, and has reportedly ordered more than one million of the devices to sell this year. It won’t be the only tablet on the way from the company though: a leaked list of devices from US retailer Staples reveals plans for a 10-inch model too.

The list is from a training guide for staff spotted by Droid Life, and outlines upcoming devices including the Motorola Xoom and BlackBerry PlayBook. The inclusion of a 10-inch Android Honeycomb tablet from HTC, though, comes ahead of any confirmation from HTC that it’s making such a device.

There are no further details in the list — its launch schedule is simply listed as “Coming Soon”. There was speculation last year that HTC was working on a tablet running Google’s Chrome OS that might be this size, but Staples’ list makes it clear that the new model is running Android.

We’re guessing the 10-inch model may keep relatively close to the specs of the HTC Flyer, although perhaps with a dual-core processor rather than that model’s 1.4GHz single-core processor. The Flyer is currently slated to run the Android 2.4 Gingerbread software, although it’s quite possible it will be updated to Honeycomb alongside the release of the new 10-inch version.

We’d expect the latter to also support OnLive cloud gaming, following HTC’s deal to invest in the company last month.

Talking of the Flyer, how about those million units? The Taiwan Economic News has the story, claiming that HTC is counting on selling a million devices in its first run when it goes on sale next month, and 1.5 million units by the end of this year.

The article also mentions two more HTC tablets on the way in the first half of 2011, one of which will be the 10-inch model leaked by Staples.
