Sprint’s ZTE Flash could have 12

Sprint and ZTE appear to becoming fast friends as details for yet another collaboration surfaced over this past weekend. Apparently called the ZTE Flash, the handset’s specs could rival those of other high-end Android smartphones.

According to TalkAndroid, the ZTE Flash will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and feature a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, a 4.5-inch HD (1,280×720 pixels) IPS display, and offer support for Sprint’s 4G LTE network.

The Flash is expected to have a standard 1-megapixel shooter, but the rear-facing camera will feature a huge 12.6-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. The presumably low-price handset will also include Bluetooth 4.0, microSD expansion, and the increasingly common NFC.

How much memory and internal storage the ZTE Flash will include remains unclear at this point. Looking at other recent models from ZTE, we might anticipate 1GB RAM and 4GB (or more) of room for apps and media.

ZTE isn’t a well-known brand within the U.S., but the Chinese phone manufacturer has long had plans to make a name for itself. Usually ZTE’s low-cost phones also feature entry-level specs, but ZTE could reach a turning point with the Flash.
