Word has it that Sprint is looking to debut its own high-end large-screened Android 4.1 smartphone, according to Engadget.
Sources familiar with the matter have given Engadget a host of photos and specs on the alleged ZTE-made device — supposedly named “Vital.” In addition to running on Android’s Jelly Bean, the phone is said to have a 5-inch HD display, 13-megapixel rear camera, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, and a 2,500mAh battery. Apparently, the device will run on Sprint’s 4G LTE network.

News of this mysterious flagship device first leaked in March and was said to be named “Quantum,” according to Android Police.
There was no suggestion on when this handset might hit the market, but this wouldn’t be Sprint’s first ZTE smartphone. The Sprint Flash debuted last November with 4G LTE, Android 4.0, and a 12-megapixel camera.
ZTE is best known for entry-level-to-midrange handsets but the company has said it’s looking to go more high-end. The Sprint Flash and the rumored Sprint Vital appear to be heading this route.
When contacted by CNET, a Sprint spokesperson said the company does not comment on products or services not yet announced.
