New leaks are filling in details for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra phablet, taking on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with a Snapdragon 800 processor and 6.4-inch high-definition screen.
Screenshots posted on XDA Developers show the Z Ultra to be powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM. And the screen boasts 342 pixels per inch, crammed into a 6.4-inch 1080p display.
In a bid to avoid leaks, the phone in question recognises benchmark testing apps and locks until they’re removed. Crafty.
An earlier leak did manage to run some tests though, and found the Xperia Z Ultra scored a record-breaking 32,173 points in the AnTuTu benchmark test.
The Z Ultra is a larger version of the waterproof Sony Xperia Z smart phone, with an 8-megapixel Exmor RS camera and a stylus included — just like the pen-toting Note.
The Note was the first in-between screen bridging the gap between phone and tablet, with the Note 2 building on the original Note’s success. Other phablets haven’t got us too hot under the collar, but with these powerful specs the Z Ultra could give the Note a run for its money.
