Q, meet T. The phones known as the Sony Xperia Hayabusa and Xperia Mint will be renamed as the Xperia TX and Xperia T when they go on sale — and they’re about to fall into the deadly hands of Britain’s top secret agent in the latest James Bond film Skyfall.
Know Your Mobile reports that the Xperia Hayabusa, renamed the Xperia TX, sports a large 4.6-inch high definition 720p screen. It’s a dual-core phone powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM. The unibody case measures 8.6mm thick.
And the Mint, redubbed the Xperia T, boasts a 4.3-inch screen, which is also 720p. You get 16GB of storage for your music, movies and more, or you can add a Micro SD card for extra legroom. A 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon MSM8960 dual-core chip does the thinking, with 1GB of RAM.
It’s the T that’s reported to appear in Skyfall, the 23rd 007 film and the latest to star blond Bond Daniel Craig. Whether the Xperia T will be issued to Craig by new Q Ben Whishaw or wielded by another character is yet to be revealed: will Judi Dench check her M-mail? Will Ralph Fiennes play Angry Birds? Or will Javier Bardem use the Xperia T to call his hairstylist?
Word on the street is the T and TX will feature a 13-megapixel Exmor R camera. It’s also heavily rumoured they’ll use Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software — boo! Where’s Jelly Bean? Jelly Bean is the latest version of Android, so I’d really expect to see it on any new phone.
What do you think of the Sony Xperia T and Xperia TX? Are they worthy Bond blowers? Tell me your thoughts in the comments or on our Facebook page.
