There are big leaks and there are little leaks. Just ask BP. This is a little leak, or rather a mini leak, or rather a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro leak. Blurry photos have emerged of a possible pre-production sample of the successor to the X10 Mini Pro.
That’s right — the phone that doesn’t fill your pockets but is more than a mouthful could be getting a successor. The leaked phone is known as the SK17i or, alternatively, by the code name Mango.
The Mango rocks a sliding keyboard, like the X10 Mini Pro. There’s a physical home button beneath the screen, with what appear to be touch-sensitive ‘back’ and ‘menu’ buttons on either side. The Mango seems to have a different layout, then, to the officially confirmed Xperia Pro. Blimey, Sony Ericsson, are you really running that short of names?
The original Mini Pro is a charmingly dinky little blower, but it’s hard to tell if this model is equally diminutive. We don’t know much about its specs as yet, but the Mango is reported to sport a 3.2-inch touchscreen, rather than the 2.5-inch display seen on the existing Mini Pro.
The screen shows what appears to be an Xperia skin over Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The skin puts shortcuts in each of the screen’s four corners, as seen on the Xperia X8. All that could change when the phone reaches shops, however.
The leak also mentions a 5-megapixel camera. The Mango is likely to have either an 800Hz or 1GHz Qualcomm processor too.
