Simplexity MVNO Services will launch wireless service with Sprint

Simplexity MVNO Services announced today that it will enter into a multi-year partnership with Sprint to launch a third-party branded wireless service slated for spring 2012.

Under the agreement, Simplexity will become a direct wholesale customer and vendor of Sprint’s wireless and data network. This means that Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) who do not want a direct relationship with Sprint can get services right from Simplexity if they want to start up another virtual operator.

Terry Hsu, Simplexity’s president of MVNO services, told CNET that the company will still provide a full range of privately labeled voice and data solutions, both on Sprint’s 3G and 4G network, to its customers.

“Each partner will have the ability to customize whatever service they will like to offer,” Hsu said. “Essentially, they can offer similar prices if they formed their own MVNO. But with us, they won’t have to spend the time and money to build their own infrastructure.”

Bill Esrey, vice president of Sprint’s Wholesale Business Unit, said in a press release that this agreement with Simplexity will “expand the availability of options for companies seeking to provide quality voice and data wireless services to their customers.”

As a Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE), Simplexity provides MVNOs with the necessary infrastructure and services to operate wireless voice and data service while rebranding it under a specific theme. Other back-end services that Simplexity provides its MVNO partners include sales and order acquisition, distribution and logistics, and billing and subscriber management.
